Pros

Alarm.com is a very special place! There are lots of incredibly smart and talented people who truly care about the team and our customers. Leadership truly believes in and lives by our corporate values. The company is growing but it often still has a lean/scrappy vibe where you can have a large impact and really drive change without too much red tape. There isn’t a ton of structure and there’s always a million things going on -- which is a pro if you thrive in that type of environment. Typically if you prove yourself as a high-performer then management is pretty hands off and you can have flexibility with your projects and schedule.

Cons

Some old ways of doing things can sometimes lead to dysfunction. We should continue to work to have more accountability throughout the company.

Pros

Great culture, friendly co-workers, fun environment, cool technology. There is a big focus on employee happiness and making sure that happiness gets translated to customer satisfaction.

Cons

There is a LOT to learn, but nothing overwhelming. Three are a ton of different products that are offered through the company avid if can feel a little daunting sometimes.

Pros

Exciting technology, energetic culture, promising future, sustainable business model, fun work-style, compelling product, good people, fun events, rewarding work, nice new facility, gender balanced management, helpful and competent junior-level staff in all departments.

Cons

Very little communication within and among departments. A "find your own way" culture. With such good people, it is really odd that management doesn't seem to trust or value the advice and council for which they are paying. With so many people coming from the same colleges and former employers, it can feel a bit like a fraternity - which is fine if you are a member of these elite groups. There is little value placed on experience, accompanied by an unwillingness to pay for it. Impenetrable silos can keep people from contributing beyond their defined roles, which leaves lots of unique talents, fresh perspectives and good ideas on the table. Cash flows freely for some things, but getting the tools you need to do your job can be like pulling teeth. Aside from a lucky few, little is invested in developing staff or keeping them engaged, empowered and happy.
