Pros

flexible working culture and okay client, working with the people is fun.

Cons

it's weird. Company is prioritising the wrong thing. Employees are the one who has to chase HR for annual review and increment/bonus only happen at the middle of the year. HR waited for the bosses to make time with employees which can go down to the drain if everybody is busy. a lot of people left from creatives, developers, project managers and HR over the year of 2024 and no one is replacing them. Yet, it's not sending any alarm to the management. No increment for 2 years and no explanation given to employees. no standard words of encouragement to boost morale in trying times. the management is difficult. it keeps on changing without any communications. When people submit their resignations, they simply shun you and treat you differently as if we're the one who caused the problems?

Pros

we learned a lot on the job. a lot of exploring pitches to various industries. hence, designing feels challenging and never gets boring.

Cons

Poor HR, like really really poor. They are maybe fast in recruiting but once you're in. they are slow in managing your annual reviews or other finance things. Expect a daily journal to be done which is wasting time for staff to do if they are busy. The purpose of this daily journal is for them to micromanage their staffs.

Dear Alephian, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on our Glassdoor. We are sorry to hear that you are not enjoying your employment with us as much as we would like you to. However, we do not appreciate any misrepresentation of us in the public space. We hope the following will help to clarify your doubts on your aforementioned. Aleph practices a system of having an annual review for all employees where you will be assessed on your work performance for the year with feedback from your managers as well as the happiness team. This also serves as a good opportunity for you to ask any questions in relation to your career progression if you are confused. There are certain processes of annual reviews being done and we will try our best to ensure all the processes run through without delays in future. Keeping a daily journal is an important part of Aleph's company culture. It serves as a two-way communication tool between team members, leads, and higher management. It is a way for everyone to stay informed and connected on a daily basis. Additionally, it is a beneficial practice that will help you plan your day better for the next working day. This can be a good way to keep track of your progress, set goals, and reflect on what you've accomplished each day. A journal is a useful tool for both the employee and the management to understand the work progress and its effectiveness. We have noted that you are still working with us at this point in time, so we would like to implore you to approach any of the Happiness Team members and go through the formal feedback mechanism where we can address your aforementioned feedback/comments. We believe that this will be a better medium for a two-way conversation which can help us take in feedback in a constructive manner from you, as well as understand each other's points of view on some of the topics mentioned so that we can build a stronger Aleph together. Kindly approach any of the Happiness Team members to make this possible.

Pros

The salary is okay. Co-workers are good.

Cons

If you value work-life balance, this place is not for you. 16 hour work days is normal, but do not let management know you are struggling otherwise you will get in trouble. Many designers have a personality of being empathetic and caring. If this describes you, you won't fit in well here. Do not expect mentorship or help from management.

Dear Alephian, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on our Glassdoor. We are sorry to hear that you are not enjoying your employment as much as we would like you to. However, we do not appreciate any misrepresentation of us in the public space. We hope the following will help to clarify your doubts on your aforementioned. Due to the nature of our business, working over the weekends is highly unavoidable due to delivery schedules. We do provide off-in-lieu for Alephians who had worked over the weekend and/or public holidays. You may email the happiness team if you are unsure how obtain these replacement leaves or refer to your handbook. Nevertheless, do note that we do not encourage working overtime unless there are any emergency situations. We cherish family/personal time as much as you do. Speak to your managers if you have any difficulty managing your time at work. We are sure they are more than happy to help you to meet the work-life balance you are looking for. The mentors in the organisation are always available for you for a catch up over coffee regardless of the number of things they have on their plates. People are our top priority and should never be overlooked. If you felt that you have been unfair, please reach out to us at hr@aleph-labs.com and the team will relook into this matter accordingly. Thank you.
