      Pros

      A great, small (but growing) government contracting firm. Senior Management very engaged with staff and concerned about employee's job satisfaction and professional growth (offer lots of training opportunities, job flexibility, team building). Always working to listen to concerns and make improvements. Company has a well thought-out plan for future growth and sustainability.

      Cons

      Uncertainty that comes with government contracting.

      Pros

      AST cares deeply about its employees and engages in many fun, career benefiting and moral boosting activities. For instance, they paid for mine and many of my coworkers' PMP certifications including the required training, they also trust their employees to think outside of the normal way we work with our clients by encouraging creative problem solving and solutions, and on top of that they sponsor happy hours, family picnics, and sporting events.

      Cons

      AST is bound by government contracts so many times promotional opportunities grow from recognition by the client and AST. But if you are a great employee they do materialize.

      Pros

      AST is committed to employee well-being. They are very supportive of professional and personal growth, and are willing to put their money into growing the value of employees. They work hard to ensure satisfaction through team-building, solid benefits, competitive salaries, and a generally positive work environment.

      Cons

      AST is very clear that they wish to grow and maintain a strong workforce, but there don't always seem to be many opportunities for advancement. AST seems to have a good strategic vision for moving the company forward into new markets during the next few years, but they've experienced a lot of growth lately and the transition from a small (50+) company to a bigger (200+) company appears to be more difficult than management had anticipated.
