Pros

Flight benefits are nice if you're comfortable with standby travel. However, it's worth noting that flight scheduling often requires taking time off. Certain departments allow remote work, offering flexibility. Nevertheless, there's an expectation to be available for calls during off hours. working with colleagues is generally enjoyable,

Cons

Compensation is a significant issue at Allegiant, with employees feeling undervalued for their experience despite the company's impressive metrics and profitability. The rising cost of living in Las Vegas, coupled with infrequent merit raises every 2 or 3 years, makes it challenging to keep pace. Improving pay often means changing roles within the company or leaving altogether. Career growth is limited, especially for those uninterested in managerial roles, hampering professional development. Workload is a pressing problem due to understaffing, aggravated by the introduction of a new aircraft platform (Boeing). Employees are going to be expected to manage both platforms with limited resources, resulting in a reactive rather than proactive approach. High turnover in some departments leads to perpetual setbacks and continuous delays in projects. Allegiant's benefits package has also seen a decline over time. Smaller bonuses, the elimination of Health Savings Account (HSA) options, and the implementation of "unlimited" Paid Time Off (PTO) contribute to an overall reduction in employee benefits. The introduction of unlimited PTO appears to be a double-edged sword, as it not only removes the obligation for the company to provide a payout upon an employee's departure but may also raise concerns about the feasibility of taking adequate time off without compromising professional responsibilities. Additionally, no allowance is given for phone or internet despite having the expectation to handle issues over the weekend or off hours. This wouldn’t be such a problem if compensation was better. Despite ambitious growth plans, the company retains a persistent small airline mentality and falls short in its efforts to retain experienced talent. The issues with compensation, limited career growth opportunities, and declining benefits can make it hard to contribute to a challenging work environment that may hinder Allegiant's ability to attract and retain skilled professionals in the long run.
