Pros
Flight benefits, some people are smart.
Cons
Honestly, I'm not even sure how this company makes money. Their operation is a total mess. They try to say the company is on the cutting edge of technology but coworkers there said that it was pretty poor compared to other airlines. The culture is absolutely awful. I have never been in a company where so much of your time is spent covering your back. Throughout the company, all I witnessed was rampant finger pointing and shifting of accountability. The company says they're about teamwork, but I honestly never saw anything close to that. The incentive structure is basically nonexistent. You could work really hard and do great work and not see an extra dime. Also, they don't give annual raises while healthcare premiums increased (so you're losing money in real terms). I have no idea what the company's vision is. I did not hear any major goals that we were striving for when I worked there. They really don't do a good job of nurturing talent. I was not in a good role and thought I should've been in a different team. My manager and director wouldn't let me move to a team that would've been a better fit given my education and previous work. Doesn't help that they misled me about the role when I was interviewing. They're going to create a lot of animosity between longer tenured employees and newer ones. Some people I know have worked there for 5 years and new hires fresh out of college are making more money than them. Office politics is absolutely toxic. Management will promote people based on who they like or if they're a relative of someone else high up in the company. Meritocracy was in short supply. Customer satisfaction is non-existent. Whenever they cancel a flight, they give customers the minimum required flight voucher. In my orientation, one of the people actually bragged about how whenever Allegiant gets bad press it actually benefits the company because people see how low the fares are. For a company who is completely reliant on customers, it was absolutely pathetic how little they cared about them. Overall, I found the company to be very unprofessional and it would not surprise me if the company was doing unethical things such as bribing the FAA (in a team meeting, my manager said he believed we were bribing them). You should only work there if you absolutely need a job. It's really not surprising why so many people at Allegiant are jumping to other airlines. They get better pay and benefits and work for better, more professional, and reputable companies.
