Great Colleagues/Poor Leadership

Pros

- Supportive co-workers - Good work/life balance - Learn new skills during first 1-2 years

Cons

- High turnover in middle-management with little autonomy given to middle management to make any changes or improvements - No meritocracy and little opportunity for career development - No performance reviews were ever set in place (over span of 5+ years), making for little opportunity for advancement - Leadership had poor understanding of the job descriptions and roles each person served and therefore were not able to give proper support (i.e hiring the right managers, providing support, etc.)

Pros

Moved up in pay quickly and if you are doing great work, they show you with pay increases and bonus; I work both in teams and individually depending on the project; listen when there are issues and work to solve the problem; very nice people who are considerate of the fact that you have a personal life and family (work is not everything!); mostly remote but can travel to see clients or work in NYC office; annual office party and other ways to get EEs together and get to know/see one another; lots of PTO time even at new hire;

Cons

The benefits could be better considering we are in benefits consulting and it would be nice if they paid for more of those benefits (price for STD/LTD is outrageous and the 401k ER contribution has a cap!); while the pay is reflective of your work, they do not actually give job title promotions; management tends to be hands-off which sounds great until there is a new hire or workload issues;

Pros

If you happen to be lucky enough to work on a team with good people, this will be the biggest pro. Decent salary compared to similar.

Cons

So many to list. Management is horrible. Upper management knows it and won’t take any action so turnover at the worker level is high! The remaining people have to pick up the pieces constantly. Health insurance is awful.
