Great people but can't currently recommend working at Allscripts
Pros
Allscripts does a good job of screening and hiring very competent skilled professionals. The hiring process is rigorous. I appreciate the opportunities I had at Allscripts but it's clear (even to a line worker) the company needs a great deal of restructuring.
Cons
The benefit package is a bit anemic, although internally touted as very good. The insurance benefit has progressively gotten much more expensive and fewer benefits over the years, which might be expected but disappointing for a healthcare company. They have consistent layoffs with poor severance packages. Most disappointing of all is that their value statement and imperatives make no mention of their most important asset - their people. They recently had a large layoff and reduced the salaries of those left by 15%.
