Pros
Well-structured, mature office environment. Strong company HR policies are in place to prevent toxic Uber-ish behaviors among management. And I did not witness such behaviors during my stay at Allscripts.
Cons
Large teams and mature large application-system work makes for a lack of dynamism and by necessity, high communication overhead. So if you are a restless, entrepreneurialish soul, you may not find it to your liking. Also, the approach embedded into Allscripts medical systems is clearly biased against low-cost alternative healing methods, and in favor of more profitable conventional medical methods. As an advocate of complementary medicine for many illnesses, this is disappointing to me.
