Pros

Provided free vending machine beverages and periodic events where free food was served. Co-workers were great in the beginning, but then there was the shadow of who's going to be terminated-at-will next.

Cons

It was all about reaching unreachable metrics. There was little or no regard to provide coaching - just make those numbers. Pay was below market and people disappeared although CEO expressed a commitment otherwise. Lost people(jobs) here were replaced by off-shore hires who often had difficulty speaking English.

Pros

- the people are great to work with - independence and flexibility with working from home, as needed - solid benefits - 100% vested in 401k match immediately - opportunity for travel - ability to network with many in the healthcare IT industry

Cons

- stagnant wage increases - layoffs occur without warning - too much of the business is moving to India to cut costs; clients complain of off-shore support - lots of small cutbacks that seem trivial to save a dollar. for example, suspending putting basics like plastic cutlery and paper plates in the break room; this was only reinstated after employee complaints. then, no artwork or wall coverings in the new bldg. then pc replacement going from 3 to 4 years. etc.
