Management heal thyself...

Pros

Quality products and a high level of caring by the lower level staff that actually produces and supports the products. The company cares greatly about client satisfaction. Everyday employees take great pride in what they are developing and rolling out to customers. The former A4 portion of the company is a close knit team that treats each other like family.

Cons

Continuous push from upper management to work harder and faster within ever tightening and often unrealistic schedules. This is becoming the norm instead of the exception. Employee morale is decreasing as the message getting out to employees is "what you have done is still not good enough. Do more. Faster. But make sure it is just as good." And it is to be done with inadequate amounts of resources. Employees that were previously treated as integral parts of the company are now treated as numbers. Projects are planned by "running numbers" and people are reviewed by "running numbers" instead of TALKING to people to see what the real needs and challenges are for projects. Some people are managing areas that are not really appropriate and are making bad decisions for the company. This hurts everyone. Their plans and ideas are not to be questioned. The culture also seems to be one of "taking things away" from employees...things that used to mitigate the low salaries.

Pros

(1) I believe it's and up-and-coming company with solid core clinical product offerings. (2) The pay scales are comparable to others in the industry. (3) As with many companies, when you have a good manager there is good support. (4) The core clinical product is well known and respected. (5) The company is making efforts to improve on its products and succeeding in many ways. (6) There are some really talented/skilled people working for this company. (7) Though the constant change introduced by executive leadership is somewhat difficult to deal with I do believe that the company is gaining ground in its field.

Cons

(1) There is little opportunity for advancement, (2) the different groups/service areas/etc. are very siloed and territorial, (3) difficult to maintain work/life balance, (4) there seems to be a constant turnover - it is difficult to maintain experienced staff, (5) lack of true mentor program, (6) the company is in a state of constant change from an "organizational chart" perspective down to key employee processes (for example: time entry), (7) there seems to be such a focus on billability that employees are often placed in situations for which they have not prepared, (8) in some groups maintaining skills/continued training is sacrificed to billability
