Pros

Do you love brown nosing? Well great, Allstate is the place for you. We love people who think like us, our favorite slogan is “focus on the positive.” All those good benefits of working for Allstate listed on our website are all lies, but focus on the positive, you have a job.

Cons

Run, run far. Allstate, at least in Atlanta is not the place to work. I have never in my life seen anything as scary as working for Allstate. They have literally brainwashed employees into thinking it is ok to take on more responsibility for no additional pay. They like to try before you buy, for at least 3-6 months, prior to discussing your pay. SMH. Also, they are asking wayyyyy too much from you for the little pay they give out any way. They make you salaried so that you can log in on weekends, evenings, you name it. Not to mention, they will book your schedule up with pointless meetings and then drop a bunch of claims on your desk so that you have to work out after hours just to keep up. Allstate pushes nothing but lies to get you in the door, it’s a different story when you get inside. There is no 37 hour work week, no flexible schedule, no working from home at least not at this location. Do not be fooled about the work from home, yes for COVID 19 we were, but in one of the pointless meetings we had we were advised that we will be going back to office. Because they just love to micromanage, which is funny because most of the upper management haven’t touched a claim in over 10 years.

Pros

There are literally no pros. Please take my word for this.

Cons

*The pay is an absolute joke. Do not fool yourself into thinking otherwise. Whoever you are, you can do better and have a more tolerable job. *Benefits are incredibly mediocre. *There is very much an expectation to work overtime. It might as well be a requirement, as you will absolutely never, ever, ever even approach finishing an average workload in just 40 hours a week. Expect cosmically more— especially when your manager repeatedly arbitrarily rejects your liability decision and you have to go back and call the already-very-upset clients. *Outdated, practically unusable systems. *Incredibly stiff, awkward corporate atmosphere and culture. Do not bring a personality of any kind here. It will not fit. *Predates on recent college grads who are a bit desperate and haven't yet learned to have standards. *I worked in the Claims dept for 6 months and had stress nightmares every single night just to wake up to a reality that made the nightmares look like fun and games. All for what was, factoring in unpaid overtime, probably about $15/hr or less. *Nobody deserves this.

Pros

1. Great leadership monthly and annual meetings with the officers 2. Tremendous resources 3. Willingness to share information 4. Great opportunity to leverage resources 5. So much opportunity for change

Cons

1. Agency focused only 2. Consensus driven 3. Passive Aggressive and the culture and poor leadership perpetuated not dealing with conflict directly. Rewarded poor behavior 4. Extremely risk adverse. Analysis paralysis 5. They look inward to often and not outward to what the customers and competition is doing 6. They handle job eliminations poorly. Without notice, expecting some benefits to be paid back even though the reason for leaving is Allstate's decision and poor leadership that led to the down sizing.
