Fun work, poor corporate organization

Pros

A very fun, young, casual work environment. Very fun and rewarding projects. A good launchpad into a transportation planning career.

Cons

Some managers are good, others not. Company organization and corporate comms are terrible. It’s nearly impossible to get promoted, the company only pencils out with a bunch of (underpaid) worker bees on the bottom and very few manager level staff. Start-up culture with little structure or guidance.

Pros

Alta Planning and Design has a strong company culture that is truly powered by mission driven work. All departments value team work and collaboration. The compensation and benefits package are very competitive in today’s market. Leadership is always open to feedback and my coworkers make working fun and rewarding. Great flexible hybrid schedule too!

Cons

No cons. Alta is always looking to improve as the company grows, love that!

Pros

Fancy and expensive office tower with a nice view.

Cons

Promised a full remote schedule with in person optional on hiring but was forced into the office two days a week after the city of Portland provided a tax incentives for moving their headquarters downtown. The supervisor had stated they had never once managed another person. Refused reasonable accommodations as required by law in the ADA. Fraudulent billing practices to taxpayer money. Recently bought by a venture capital group and is looking to cut costs to pay off its extraordinarily high debts. White, able-bodied, cis people looking to root out anyone who is not conforming to their white supremacist and ableist business culture.
