Pros

Great pay and benefits. The culture is outstanding. You have freedom to share opinions. Work life balance is respected.

Cons

Senior leadership has the desire to diversify revenue outside of Cigarettes and into newer tobacco categories but they absolutely can't figure out how to do it. They are not just failing in the vapor category, but they are failing repeatedly and spectacularly in historic examples of bad business decisions. And since they can't grow revenue, they are offshoring good paying white collar jobs to India. The employees got 3% raises, but senior leadership received 7%-13% raises despite failing miserably with several vapor acquisitions and needing to pay for their failures with US job reductions.

Pros

Very rarely do you see a company where most employees have worked 10+ years. It was one of the main selling points for me, especially working in the tech industry, where turnover and job jumping is very common. The benefits are unparalleled, although the base 401k matching could be better and I think it should take effect your first day instead of the current rate (3% matching after 6 months of employment). But there is a student loan repayment plan, schooling FULLY paid for if you want to get your Master's/PhD, deferred profit sharing program which can invest 13%-27% of your base salary in retirement options, etc.

Cons

A LOT of the technologies are outdated, so there is a huge gap between the current trend of the tech industry and Altria. But Altria is full aware and making efforts in diminish the gap (thus the reason why I'm here) :)

Pros

Good co-workers, job used to give you the ability to come up with opportunities and solve business challenges (key word: used to), DPS/401k, Free Traverse

Cons

Where do we start? 1) Check the stock price the last: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 year. All down down down. Why? JUUL + Cronos. Our brilliant CEO enjoys lighting cash on fire for fun. 2) Recent Layoffs: - 2012 - 2016 - 2019 With significant layoffs, there are far less opportunities for young employees out of college to advance and progress their career 3) SalesForce treating MMs like robots. No autonomy to identify market specific opportunities and work with the team to solve 4) CEO has created worst culture in my 20 year career. Worse than Mike Szymanczyk. He was cruel, but at least grew shareholder value. 5) Legislation: JUUL/eVapor sales contingent upon 2021 PTMA approval. FDA just announced increased cigarette warning labels on packs covering top 50%.
