Salary, Company Car, Not a boring 9-5

Cons

Everything else - Promotions are completely a joke, Management are all former interns only 2 years removed from college, experienced hires are pretty much ignored. TSM role has become nothing more than a merchandising position if you aren't a fast track candidate. Work life balance no longer exists either with the increase in micromanagement.

Company car, starting salary out of college, 401k

Cons

Industry has a terrible outlook, Altria specifically has has had 3 BIG layoffs in 7 years so you’re never “safe”. Managers are entitled and incompetent, not their fault, they have no experience and are promoted within 6 month to a year to save money. The TSM role is just merchandising, Unit Manager is just baby sitting, and account teams have no real structure or team balance.

- Good experience during early part of career with company - Above average pay and benefits for Richmond, VA

Cons

- Highly political organization - Beginning around 2012 culture change occurred where older employees were often treated harshly in reorganizations. - Around same time company started to emphasize diversity, promoting and valuing employees more based on gender or race and seemed less focused on performance. White males were often treated harshly in this process.
