Great to Start your Career, Not so Great to Stay
Pros
You learn a lot while working at Amazon, especially in the IT team. There are continuous changes and always something to learn or improve on. It is a great place to start your career, and looks great on your CV.
Cons
The IT job is now completely remote, you sit behind a desk all day and just answer remote chat questions. Management is only focused on cost cutting, new employees don't get hired, and you sometimes feel that you are always fighting fires. The focus is never put on how do we fix the problem, but always who do we blame first, and no one wants to be blamed first. And there will always be work, you can easily work 80 hour weeks, but no one is expecting to you to. And that can make learning new things also hard, since you won't always have time. For me, I spent most of my time learning extra curricular things outside of work, i.e. scripting/programming.
