      Unappreciated for good work

      Pros

      Decent compensation if the company is established locally Good Benefits I liked the computer documentation

      Cons

      As an employee you feel that no matter how good of a job you do it is never appreciated Even if you are a great therapist you are treated the same as a really unethical/unprofessional therapist As a whole you are not taken care of in times of a low/high census... they just expect you to fend for yourself HUGE territory expected to be covered with no additional compensation for long drives No extra for evaluations

      Compensation for corporate employees is fair but not great Large company and opportunity to buy stock at a discounted rate

      Cons

      A lot of senior employees have been terminated after good reviews to save money Employees who are doing good work have been written out of the company because their salary level is at the higher end Employees are fired instead of laid off so the company can save face Amedisys routinely contests unemployment benefits creating a long waiting period for employees Amedisys managers are taught to write bad things about employees to get rid of them even when the employees can prove the things aren't true. The managers act like gods!

      Full of pointless, ridiculous tasks to take away from your actual job and the management doesn't recognize it.

      Pros

      The pay, benefits and time off are great. The sales territories are fairly small compared to pharmaceutical sales. Company car (Ford Focus) and gas card are provided. Patients really do get quality care, which makes it easy to stand behind the services.

      Cons

      After the first quarter or two, your quotas are increased so much where it's nearly impossible to ever bonus. If you're considering this company and taking into account that you'll bonus every quarter, think again... So many pointless and completely ridiculous tasks that take away from the actual job, yet they question why you're not able to be in the field 100% of the time. The people running the company have absolutely no clue what's actually going on in the field. My region has two calls each week lasting about an hour long just to report numbers that the managers already have! It's a total waste of time.
