Pros

Telework Good Benefits Good Pay

Cons

Workload is unrealistic-they expect a single person to do the job of 3 people Corporation is too big-the upper management don’t care about the workers and don’t address any of the concerns brought to their attention Poor Communication- because it is such a large company, communication is awful. Processes are always changing without being communicated which results in a lot of rework. Terrible Work/Life Balance-you are expected to work late constantly. Again, workload is too much that you can’t get it done in a normal 40hr work week Lack Of/Poor training-new hire training is practically nonexistent, most everything is self taught. There are no set procedures/guidelines in place. You are expected to figure it out a your own, whatever it takes to get the job done. If you’re considering applying for Amentum, please reconsider, the pay isn’t worth it. You’ll be kicking yourself in the butt if you work for them, trust me.

Cons

- Work under overseas labor law, but they don't tell you that until you've already quit your previous job and about to sign the dotted line. Abusive and questionable behavior from day 1. - While under overseas labor law, they don't follow it. They pick and choose which Holidays to honor. They do not properly count overtime or Ramadan compensation per local labor law. - Have to sign fraudulent dummy contracts in host nation. Basically part of some bizarre under-the-table scheme between employer and host nation. - When confronted about discrepancies with host nation labor law, they fall back on "we talked to our lawyer (in the US)". I would love to know this lawyer' name so I can report them to the State Bar of Texas for giving legal advice in a jurisdiction they have no credentials in. - When it comes time for the yearly bonus (10% per contract), they slow play paying it. Up to 6 months after the bonus was triggered. Hide behind some nonsense about needing to verify exact hours worked over the contract. I can log into ADP and tell you that exact number in less than 5 minutes. Are you telling me you've been billing the US government for my hours, but you don't actually know what those hours are? What was the purpose of filling out all those timecards in Deltek ? Stop lying. You just want to delay paying a bonus to another Quarter. - Change contract terms behind employees' back. Such as sick day policy, paid time off policy, 401k, etc. with no prior notice. - There's a whole lot of benefits they sell on paper, but don't actually exist or they make impossible to use. Such as paid time off, sick leave, etc. - They stopped accruing our PTO and Sick days in July 2023. It's been 6 months, and the issue has not been corrected. Stealing days off the books, hoping we won't notice, and now hoping we'll forget about it. - Added responsibilities to job, without any additional compensation. I know Amentum got paid in return for us doing additional work on new contracts. Our work center does 100% of the work on these contracts in addition to what we were hired for. Why isn't a % of that passed on to the employees doing the job? It's a slap in the face. More responsibility = more compensation; this is universal. Instead, we got less benefits with the same pay. Is it worth hiring a local lawyer to go after the sponsor with the dummy contract? This company knows they're playing fast and loose with the law in both countries. I've worked for numerous DOD contractors overseas, and never encountered such an absurd and abusive company as Amentum. Prior to Amentum, I've always been treated with respect. Always received transparent and timely compensation by the book. Amentum is a scam organization.
