      Pros

      Free cookbooks and free online access to recipes. The kitchen staff was fantastic to work with, unfortunately management wasn't.

      Dysfunctional place and too many egos to actually make the company work efficiently.

      Pros

      Great company culture with lots of fun activities and unlimited taste tests. People are really passionate about the work they are doing, and it shows in the product.

      Cons

      Low pay, but it is average for editorial work. Management can be a little old fashioned (very vertical structure, skeptical about new, innovative ideas)

      Pros

      Everyone I worked with was exceedingly nice. Having worked at other food companies since then with professional kitchens, I also now realize that the cooperative, congenial atmosphere was an aberration in the food world. The editorial product is solid and something everyone takes pride in. So much free food.

      Cons

      Pay is very low for starting positions and, when I was there, the model for making money off of products like the cookbooks and online access to things like the websites and cooking school were extremely shady.
