Pros

The pay is ok. I did get a raise fairly quickly. They send you the necessary equipment. The trainers (depending on who it is) are really great.

Cons

It’s a call center…you’re micromanaged, you can barely go take a bathroom break, the call volume is high & that 6 min AHT is ridiculous. The scripting is too long. It’s just not an enjoyable job. You’re basically an emotionless machine when you work there.

Pros

Pay isn't the worst, hours/schedule is great. Sucks that I felt like I had to leave (you'll see why) because the benefits actually seemed really good. I really liked the people and actually kept in touch with a few. They said there is a lot of room for growth which I do believe, because a lot of people said they started where I was. But if you start in customer service you have to be there for at least 6 months (I'm sure it's that way for all departments) before you can request to transfer and at least if you are going into the customer service department, it might not even be worth it. See cons...

Cons

The systems are so outdated, they have so much going on that one has to handle with an average handle time of 6 minutes, which when you are on a call updating info, sending out letters/emails, etc it does go by fast. They expect you to notate every policy you touch and they expect you to always be in ready, with no time between calls. You finish one call and immediately another comes into your line that is answered automatically so you have to start a new call within a few seconds of your last call. And by a few seconds, I mean less than 10. Micromanaging every single little thing. I can deal with angry customers all day long (some were very nice actually) but all of the micromanaging and the absolutely no time to breathe between calls or even wrap things up is a no go for me. Really wanted to like and keep this job but too many cons far outweigh the pros.

Pros

Predictable schedule yields decent work life balance.

Cons

Very predictable progression in compensation. It is according to union contract. You know what you are going make years down the road. Little chance for promotion, many folks highly tenured and happy.
