Pros

~You can make lots of money. ~You're on your own most of the time ~Scripts are available if you aren't a natural seller

Cons

~Management says you can make a lot of money and still have time in your day. That's a lie. The normal day starts early and ends late. Appointments take 4 hours out of your day. However, scheduling and finding clients for those appointments usually takes up your whole day. ~Micromanagement ~Clique type job ~Very negative job atmosphere ~Fairly stressful on average ~Managers are strict on keeping to the script. You can't make it more natural. ~There is a fee getting into the job ~If you hate driving, this isn't for you. ~You are assigned an area. Area can range from 5 miles away to 50 miles away. ~Clients can feel intruded on ~Door to door salesman job. ~kind of a scam ~Can go weeks without pay

Pros

The opportunity to be able to sit in front of someone and sell them life insurance is great. The products that American Income provides is a great niche in the life insurance market. Their main focus being Final Expense protection far exceeds their competitors that only provide traditional life insurance. Potential to make decent money but don't expect it.

Cons

Cons. Micro management was one of the biggest cons I believe. With a company like American Income that will recruit anyone that can talk and click a keyboard board, makes this a company with a LARGE turn over rate. My training class had over 25 people in it. When I left the company (6 months later) It was only two other agents and I from that training class left. All due to micro management and being lied to at the beginning. They bring in as many people, make them pay for their license, train them for a few weeks and throw them to the wolves. They have a saying, "We let the cream rise to the top and drain out the rest." Ridiculous. Expect to work at least 7 days a week and over 60 hours. Expect not to see your loved ones until 11pm or 1am after your long day you started at Noon. Expect to be micro managed to the fullest and then be reprimanded when you don't produced. Expect no stability with pay, you can go on weeks without earning a paycheck. Expect to be thrown out of houses when you start talking about life insurance when you visit Child Safe Kit appointments. They use that program as a foot in the door. Expect the worst. PRAY for a decent experience. We had 4 agents (including myself) leave the same week. One including a manager and a top producing agent.
