Pros

I would give a great reason to be affiliated but I can't. This place should fold twice over in bankruptcy.

Cons

Healthyroads is nothing more than a front. American Specialty Health is the absolute worst manifestation of the "managed care" debacle in this country today. It exists for nothing more than to make easy money serving as a middle-man between insurance companies and health care providers, denying as many claims as possible and increasing the administrative burden on doctors. I'm glad that Aetna cut ties with this despicable enterprise in my state--they were bad enough on their own without ASH dragging them down. This company has poorly trained entry-level workers "managing" health care decisions, playing doctor in the place of highly educated medical professionals. Want to know the reason doctors' morale is at an all-time low, meaningless paperwork is abundant, and patients can't understand or use the benefits they pay for? It's because of companies like these sucking the life out of the once-great practice of health care. Get yours while you can, ASH, because your time is limited. Doctors and patients won't put up with this level of unfair bureaucratic torture forever. I look forward to your next class-action lawsuit.

Hello, We’re sorry that you had a disappointing experience with ASH. We work with national health plans and employer groups to provide them with programs above and beyond their traditional scope, including employee health management, member fitness and exercise programs, and member access to a broad network of musculoskeletal providers, from chiropractors to massage therapists. We take our client, member, provider and employee satisfaction seriously, conducting satisfaction surveys to obtain feedback on where we can improve. In our most recent survey of members regarding their satisfaction with their network provider, 94% of patient respondents agreed or strongly agreed that their primary condition was successfully treated through our provider network. ASH is proud of the extensive training program we host for our Customer Service Representatives, including two levels of agent training, both consisting of 6 week combined classroom, on-the-job call training and which are both accompanied by mentors for assistance. We employ a highly trained staff of licensed chiropractors, acupuncturists, dietitians and other practitioners who are involved in our medical necessity review process and who follow best practices that have been established for our industry, based on the most recent research and literature. Additionally, ASH is accredited by URAC, a nationally recognized leading entity for accrediting specialty health plans. By applying for and receiving URAC accreditation, American Specialty Health Insurance Company and American Specialty Health Networks have demonstrated the commitment to be measured by nationally accepted health care benchmarks. In addition, ASH is accredited by the National Committee on Quality Assurance. NCQA is committed to providing health care quality information through the web and the media in order to help consumers, employers, and others make more informed health care choices. Whether you are a former or current employee, provider in our network, or a patient, we take your concerns seriously. If you would like to speak more about them, please reach out to our head of Human Resources, Kristin Bragg, to schedule a call with both of us. Thank you, Robert White, President and Chief Operations Officer, American Specialty Health

Thank you for your continued service to ASH and our members.  We’re glad you enjoy the remote work environment. Our customer service representatives go through an extensive training program designed to teach the needed key information, applications, processes, and customer service skills. Our goal is to train employees in how to use their resources to find the answers they need to support our members. Please provide your supervisor or manager with this feedback on your specific trainer. We want to hear how we can improve. Regarding compensation, we offer a call center bonus program, analyze salary trends, and provide annual merit increases. We also restructured our non-exempt compensation plan to ensure we stay competitive in the job market.
