Pros

Nobody is worried about getting laid off here.

Cons

Everyone is just waiting for a turn in the economy to leave. Workplace culture is very much a trip back to the 70s. If you are looking for a company that's more up to speed with the time....this place aint it.

Corporate to the Core

Pros

Remote Working Capabilities Interoffice Events and Activities

Cons

American Structurepoint is a company that prides itself on being a 'small company'; however, this seems like an excuse to award staff with substandard pay. The company is corporate to the core and has all the negative attributes of a large corporate company. When presented with a contract, things like overtime pay are calculated into the salary to make it seem like a higher amount. However, you have to essentially beg for 8 hours of work, so overtime is out of the question. Although the company has the capability to function on a work-from-home platform, it is highly discouraged by project managers and team leaders. The higher ups in the company are completely out of touch with the reality of an average employee. Project managers and team leaders brag about exorbitantly priced dinners that they regularly attend on the company's dime; in addition to their boats, multiple houses, and fancy cars. Working at American Structurepoint is like observing a nauseating exclusive rich white man's club that ultimately discourages an inclusive and diverse working environment.

We're sorry to hear that you had a negative experience working with us. We pride ourselves on being a growing, mid-sized company, with an entrepreneurial spirit while maintaining a family atmosphere that offers deep comradery amongst our employees- truly, the reason why so many of our wonderful team members have spent much of their career with us! In regards to your offer, OT is not factored into your base pay, though it's shown for your understanding . As a Staff Engineer, you receive a base salary, plus overtime. Overtime is shown to you at an estimation of 5 hours/week (with explanation that this number will ebb and flow based upon project deadlines, client needs, etc.) so that you are able to see a full picture of what your annual compensation structure estimation will look like, including annual bonus. We are confident that our compensation structure is competitive and aligned with industry standards at all levels, and are proud that many of our benefits are some of the best in the industry! We are also currently unaware of any teams denying overtime for staff for level appropriate work that needs completed. Creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment is of top priority for us. We are proud to see several leaders across our company be more reflective of the communities we live and work in, and continue to make this a focal point as we grow our company. We sincerely hope that you did not feel the opposite, and if so, would be hopeful that you would bring your concern to our HR team so we can ensure we can address appropriately.

Great Growth Opportunities

Pros

I had worked many years at a different company where I didn't feel like I had the opportunity to grow in my abilities or had complex projects to work on. In my time at Structurepoint, the transformative projects I've worked on has reinvigorated my passion for engineering. I feel challenged and supported here.

Cons

There are times when work is very busy and the hours are long. From my perspective, this is a natural trade-off for the benefit of working on complex projects.
