Pros

Decent pay and benefits, that's about it!

Cons

Total lack of communication at all levels. Tremendous amount of duplication of work as a result of lack of communication. Total lack of leadership at all levels. Here's my direct feedback about the manager I worked for in Greenwood, IN. He took a 3 hour lunch every day while the team was working 60 to 70 hour week, weeknights and weekends. He took credit for others work. He lacked any skill in management, leadership, direction, or expertise. He was totally removed from our everyday tasks and operation. He lacked any systematic or procedure skills. He lacked any people skills. He never generated any original thought, everything was generated from the team. He never performed any real work, in almost one year of being there, I never saw a single spreadsheet that he generated. He spoke negatively of all team members and people across the whole organization. He spoke down to everybody as if he was better than all of them.

Pros

The health benefits were good and the retirement benefits were good if you were hired prior to 2003.

Cons

The amount of management personnel that were on conference calls all day, Monday through Friday was ridiculous. Having to schedule a call with your own boss in order to resolve an issue just plain nonsense. Company is very reactive and not proactive. Important issues are put on that backburner until they become major issues needing immediate attention. So concerned about DEI that qualified personnel are overlooked in order to check a box while everyone supporting that new hire position has to pick-up the slack.

Pros

Good pay and benefits depending on your job - but definitely do your market research. Benefits (depending on role) include hybrid work, sick time, holidays, generous 401k contribution and match and discounted employee stock purchase plan.

Cons

Inefficient across the board as far as meeting culture and inability to make progress or uniform changes. They operate across the country and you can ask leaders or employees about the same rules or expectations and get a bunch of different answers depending on location. Money is going down the drain every second while extremely high paid individuals spin their wheels in meetings or sit silently contributing nothing. There are a lot of people just biding their time collecting a paycheck and very low engagement. Not diverse by any measure (this is public info on their website) and certainly behind the times as far as company culture. There are a lot of issues with racism and sexism across the organization. There also wasn't much appreciation for innovation or teamwork. I also felt consistent ethical challenges with their business of private water. It is surprising that private water is even allowed given the precious and dwindling nature of fresh water supply and the increasingly critical nature of access due to climate change.
