Pros

The company preaches of a culture that is rare among corporations: Creating value through employees, etc. Orientation makes it sound like the perfect place to work. There are a few employees that are very intelligent and progressive; but the vast majority are stuck in a world of "mental-models". If you don't agree with these mental models - you are not in cultural alignment, as a matter of fact, the culture they talk about is non-existent at this plant nor at the Corporate Headquarters. Senior management knows exactly what is happening, yet still turn their head in the opposite direction, not standing up for what is right - but what will save their job/reputation within the corporation.

Cons

Management, supervisors, and senior work employees severely lack any sense of work-ethics. A project assigned at the top; will subsequently not be completed by management or supervisors. Instead, the work will be done by a less-senior employee; and all credit for the results achieved will be taken by the manager it was originally given to. Two years of work and nearly every action completed on my behalf; has someone else's name next to it upon completion in their 'action logs'. This team concept exists only in theory - and through the games that not only senior management plays but corporate level employees play. During my time here I faced nothing but ridicule, bullying, and accusations of not being in cultural alignment - I was actually labeled as incompetent by my boss despite a history of objective excellence in project completions. Accommodations for the disabled? Be prepared to have HR mock your condition; regardless of documentation presented from doctors, etc. HR needs to be investigated in this company. Their blatant disregard for following policies and procedures as well as local and federal law somehow just go un-noticed. I had faith in this company and their beliefs. Raising issues such as discrimination, bullying and the creation of a hostile work-enviornment were met with nothing but laughs and mocking remarks by senior HR members - and my private conversations held with corp. strangely made it's way every time right back to the original HR employee the complaint was about. The result - nothing changes; you the employee get disciplined - regardless of what law or policy was breached or how you were treated. There is no consistency with enforcement of any HR policies. As long as senior management do not get in trouble; they will bend, break and violate any policy/procedure or cultural ideology behind the company to reflect blame on everyone else but themselves. Do you receive fair representation in these instances? Nope - none what-so-ever. To further protect themselves; Senior management has no problem blatantly lying; even going as far as documenting instances in employees profiles that never even took place. If you attempt to dispute; further discipline is imposed. Better yet, current employees have now been threatened; and fear retaliation or worse for simply providing a reference for myself after leaving the company. There are so many blatant examples of policy + procedure as well as federal and local law violated daily in this establishment, yet nothing is done - HR is corrupt all the way through corporate and senior management turns their back to it all.

decant pay better than average benefits have a retirement plan which many companys do not employee ownership bonuses birth day paid holiday

Cons

Freez on retirement all employees not treated equil older workers are not appriciated for there many years of exp. new hires get best jobs

Pros

Competitive pay, great co-workers, leveraging of latest IT technology & lean manufacturing process

Cons

All of the above positives are in the past tense. Much has changed since the RSI/AWC merger and acquisitions. The previous CEO was forced out under not the best of circumstances, and the corporate values and culture he championed are now just verbal platitudes as day-to-day operational decisions are not in line with them. Employees are espoused as one of the company's core values. However, decisions regarding the hiring of hourly workers have been made based on financial expediency and limiting the company's liability, resulting in poor quality hourly workers with above average levels of disciplinary problems, unreliability, total job apathy, and a high turnover rate. Production quality and efficiency also suffer. High performing salary employees have not been supported and promoted, but several instances of nepotistic hiring of supervisors/managers are causing these employees to slowly leave as they see their department mismanaged.
