Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad to hear that you are satisfied with your pay. With respect to your hours, for many of our clients, they are looking for us to service their vehicles after hours to ensure that their fleets are available in the daytime so that they can service THEIR clients. That's what makes Amerit unique. We offer a variety of business models so that we can offer the best possible solution for each of our clients. Given the nature of the services that we perform, we are generally located in industrial neighborhoods. We do everything possible to ensure the personal safety or our employees. Please speak with your Fleet Manager directly if you have any specific concerns.

Pros

There is a good opportunity for advancement- sometimes requiring relocation. The company places a strong emphasis on HR issues and does a great job supporting all employees. Company leadership is highly connected to the field- still has the feel of a small company. Top performers have high earning potential.

Cons

The lack of a matching 401k program or company sponsored retirement plan. there is a 401k plan but it is funded by employee contributions. to be successful, you must learn to manage your time wisely.

I really appreciate you detailed feedback. You are right that in a small company that's geographically dispersed, advancement opportunities may require relocation. I'm glad that you see us as doing a great job in supporting the employees. I can vouch for the fact that both your Operations and HR management teams are very focused on making this a great place to work for all of our employees. I acknowledge what you say about the 401K program. At this point in our company's growth, unfortunately, it isn't something we're able to offer. Do know though, that we do annual reviews of our benefits plans and are always looking for ways that we can enhance our offerings to meet the needs of our employees while being financially affordable. We'll continue to look at the viability of a 401K match in the coming years. I agree with your comment about getting out to the field to visit with our employees and I know that our senior leadership would also agree. This has been a very busy year, with many new contracts starting up and the renewal of one major account. Hopefully in 2016 we will find ways to conduct more visits. Please also watch for future initiatives in terms of live streaming video chats.

Pros

Union Good co-workers Good for people who are in dire need of money to pay bills while you look for something else.

Cons

Ladies and gentlemen in the shop environment. Please do your homework when joining this company. Amerit was or is a job placement company. So upper management do not know about fleet maintenance. If you go on their web-site there might be a couple of gents that sit on the board that might look like the have experience, but looks are deceiving. All these presidents and Vice Presidents have done is gather potential clientele for business and try to bid as low as they can to bag the client and hire the least amount of technicians to do the work. According to management the ratio of equipment to 1 mechanic is 50. Now I wish I was a fly on the wall when this number was given. Imagine all the managers at their yearly convention and one brilliant manager said to all the others while sipping on the company paid water( do you really think they were drinking water), "I got it, we can squeeze 50 pieces of equipment to 1 mechanic." This means every mechanic needs to touch 2.2 units a day in a month working 5 days a week. Ok it's not everyday or every month you replace an injector, turbo, transmission, clutch, or all major repairs that might take more than one day. In my experience of 12 years I have noticed when one goes down the others are not far behind. So 2.2/1 is gone down the drain. It's time to play catch up. Current employees don't be misled ask your managers what your counts are and the numbers will be real close I guarantee it.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your review. Let me first start by clarifying that Amerit Fleet Solutions is NOT a job placement company. We are a national provider of fleet maintenance. That is our core, and only, business. While it is true we use a ratio system to develop headcount solutions, we take into consideration the type of equipment, age and mileage of the client’s fleet and ultimately determine staffing based on the needs of the business. No employee is asked or expected to allow a vehicle to return to service that is either unsafe or will break down. We take our reputation and the safety of drivers and the motoring public very seriously. In fact, safety is one of our core values. Amerit’s executive leadership team boasts a mix of talent including sales and marketing, finance, account management, business management and yes, maintenance management. Combined, Amerit’s leadership group has extensive maintenance experience, including time spent as mechanics in commercial and military garages. While we value the diversity that our non-fleet employees provide we rely on our field Manager’s many years of technical expertise. Every field manager from the VP on down has been a technician. If you, or any of our employees have concerns that they do not feel they can bring up with their local manager, I would recommend that you contact HR or the anonymous tip line for reporting problems. In addition, please reference the HAZREP program for monitoring and reporting safety issues.
