Pros

Had good health, dental and vision insurance. Honestly can't think of anything else good to say about my time working there.

Cons

I have several complaints from my years working here. I received only one pay raise in the years of working here. Handled several different accounts and always did everything I could to help the company. Yet never rewarded. Only offered money when notice I was leaving was given. You could work there for 15 years and still only get 2 weeks vacation. They hire inexperienced Fleet Managers/Sr Fleet Managers. How some of these people could even be considered is beyond me. Little to no training for techs. Did not want to purchase tools needed to get jobs done correctly. Lost too many contracts and only cared about Amerit and never the client. Bid contracts to where is was impossible for them to make money and then blame the workers for their shops failing. I don't believe they have the right people in place to run a Fleet Service Company. Vendors not getting paid and accounts cut off from getting parts constantly. I would say the best year was the first year after that it declined every year after. It might be fine to work at their corporate office but as far as a shop environment I would stay away.

I am happy to hear that you enjoy working with your colleagues and that your manager is great. That really does make all the different in the world. I'm a little confused by who it is that you say is not treating you well. Is this something that you can address with your Manager? If not , please feel free to reach out to me directly, or anybody no the HR Team. I'm not in a position to comment on your allegation that it takes "days even weeks" for HR to respond to you. While they certainly are busy, our Service Level standards require that they return your call/email within 24-48 hours. Again, if you ever experience a delay, please reach out to me directly. Could it be that you don't have the right contact info? The Employee Services Center can be reached a (855) 843-9798 or hr@ameritfleet.com. Annual increases are merit based, ensuring that the best performers receive the highest raises. While we were not in a position to process large increases, they were in keeping with the current Cost of Living rates. Per our pay practices, we use a Market Based Pay Rate, meaning that as we hire each person, we take into consideration their experience, what the job requires and what the local market is currently paying for similar jobs. This rate does fluctuate.

Pros

If I could give this company a split Rating I would give it a 5 and a 3. From the perspective of what it's trying to achieve, and how it wants to treat its employees, it's a 5. I think they really mean well, have the best interests of their employees at heart, and would be far more generous in what they pay and the benefits they offer if they could. They try to keep the atmosphere light and family like and most people genuinely are open and friendly and treat each other with respect. I work really hard but I enjoy my work and the people I work with.

Cons

However, at the same time, I feel like they're a 3. The pay is average and the benefits are the bare minimum. I realize it's because they can't afford to offer more right now. It's rather stressful right now as we struggle to grow and there are days I admit it doesn't feel like it's all worth it. Unfortunately, there also seems to be a focus on blame and fault finding, rather than trying to problem solve and learn from past errors. I don't think this is intentional, but it's happening.

Thank you for your honesty. It IS worth it! Hang in there. I truly believe we have the ability to be the "5" employer you describe above. We have hired many very talent individuals. We are still trying to iron out some processes and procedures that should alleviate the frustration you've been feeling. This challenge may be what is causing what you describe as blame and fault finding. I know that isn't the desired culture and I appreciate the feedback that tells me that's the way it's coming across to you. Lastly, with respect to pay and benefits, you are correct. As we grow and become more profitable, we certainly hope to be able to add to our benefits offerings. They are reviewed annually. Unfortunately, medical benefits are the single biggest benefits expense that a company faces. We try to provide a balance of options to our employees and will continue to review our options on a regular basis.
