      Good first job for a tech school grad

      Pros

      The pay and sign on Bonus is good for someone just starting out. No long term advantages to staying with company Get in, get experience and get out.

      Cons

      vacation policy is sub par, 2 weeks when hired, 2 weeks after 5 years, 2 weeks after 10 years no cost of living increase and performance are few and far between

      Thank you for your feedback. It is true that, at the moment, we do not have a tiered vacation plan. We conduct regular benefits plans reviews and they are subject to change.

We are really focused on providing a positive work environment for our employees, where they can use their skills, get involved in contributing to the business and to get guidance and support as they develop professionally. We have been working on a lot of initiatives to drive the business and to provide a positive employee experience. We feel confident that these initiatives should result in a lower turnover.

      Cons

      Too many cons to list, but luckily for you readers I have the time to list them all. Let's start with the most important. Employee's are not being paid on time and get short paid every week. Vendors are not being paid for their services and parts being supplied to Amerit. Amerit expects Mechanics to work out of a box truck with a bench and a compressor in the most dangerous places and situations. There has been countless times where a Mechanic was expected to fix the impossible in a clients parking lot or warehouse. Mechanic have to diagnose drivability concerns with no diagnostic equipment. Amerit offers no long term growth for its employees. No Technical training or benefits other than a sub standard medical package and NO match on 401k's. HR dept is horrible with no sense of urgency, emails bout employees not being paid goes unanswered for days. Senior Management treat employees like slaves. They want you to work crazy hours with no promise of getting paid for it.
