Pros

There really aren’t any. They steal from the audiologists and sell the manufacturer’s outdated hearing aids at a discount. They also lie to their referral partners and expect the front line people to explain the lies!

Cons

Horrible management who never takes the time to know how everyone does their job. When you ask a question or provide honest feedback, you get “you’ll need I make it work”. I couldn’t wait to find my next job. Overtime is demanded.

With regard to your comment about audiologists and our business practices, nothing could be further from the truth. We provide valuable services to our hearing care partners to help their business grow and flourish, enabling people across the country to experience the gift of sound. I’m disappointed to learn that after working with us for over 5 years, you did not see any fun or rewarding opportunities in your time with us. We offer our teams wonderful opportunities, both here and abroad, for professional development and career advancement. Judging from the number of participants we have in our company sponsored activities from the company softball game to our impromptu gatherings, it appears that many people are having fun at work and enjoy the company culture. We are extremely proud that our employees voted us as a Star Tribune Top Place to Work for 4 years in a row. There is no doubt that our team members work hard, which does sometime include overtime and extra hours during peak periods. If your experience was different than that, I welcome the opportunity to discuss with you directly to see how we can improve on this. We promote that time away from work is important for the health and wellbeing of our all employees and if we are missing the mark on this I’d like to know more. I understand that every company has its unique culture and I am grateful for the service you provided to our company during your 5-year tenure. Pros

They provide hearing care solutions to children.

Cons

Just about everything you can imagine. Terrible Senior Leadership, even worse IT department, absolutely no strategy or direction to grow, human resource leader cultivates poor leadership and lack of transparency, is not able to provide honest coaching or feedback. Poor culture that does not foster good communication across the 3 siloed business units. Forbidden to share talent and way too many closed door conversations that create unease and unrest within all levels of the business. Horrible for growth and development and absolutely terrible financial practices.

"Siloed business units"; "terrible senior leadership"; "terrible IT"; "dishonest HR"; "no strategy"; "horrible for growth" and "terrible financial practices"... that is BAD feedback all around and comes to show that even companies with a terrific growth record and 'best employer of the year' awards can - and, perhaps, even should - have truly critical team members inside! Thank you for speaking up! This type of feedback companies mostly get from involuntary leavers, whilst in your case, I am happy to see, YOU ARE STILL WITH US (despite - allow me to say - being a little surprised that you did not decide to leave AMPLIFON yet, considering you believe people would be "wasting their time" with AMPLIFON) and, I hope, this is because of the rewarding overall nature of our business, i.e. to "give the gift of sound back to thousands of people every year" and you having some HOPE & TRUST that things will improve for you personally, in future. In fact, even though MY personal opinion is that your feedback is not a true reflection of what most people feel at AMPLIFON, it is people like you who are very critical and are having very bad experiences, that can make us aware of things we may not have realized yet. Strength through diversity! So, if you have the courage, I invite you to see me at any time (you know my door is always open) and share your specific concerns in confidence. If you feel uncomfortable with that, I invite you leave me an anonymous letter, on my desk, in which you share the details and backgrounds of your bad experiences. Pros

Cool perks working downtown, Happy Hour once a month, free work out facility.

Cons

Compensation is not great, there is really no leadership on-boarding you are left to figure it out on your own. There are no expectations laid out you are to figure it out on your own. I try to research before going to any company, the culture, benefits and integrity of the company. The website says "Through strong investment in professional development, communication, and recognition" So I was very excited for this offer. I had no plan to leave the company I had been at for 7 years but the recruiting team at Amplifon reached out and sold me a pipe dream. I was told in the interview process that leadership is sent to Italy every year for training (which only 1 person is sent each year) I was told during the summer I would be next to attend the Disney conference. My position was eliminated after 8 months with the company. To me it seems the company has a cut throat attitude with their employee's, it doesn't matter what they have told you in the past if the company makes a "business" decision you will be left out in the cold. The company claims to be a hearing healthcare company but they operate like a sales company not healthcare.
