Lots of cons. Just to name a few:
- cliques (which are closed and difficult to integrate into)
- disorganized, chaotic and depending on the team you end up in, can also be toxic (especially when your manager makes it so)
- direction is not always clear and it changes far too often
- as a new employee, you are neglected from day 1, left on your own and literally nobody cares about you
- people management as such does not exist
- project management concept is stuck somewhere in the 1990s (no proper PM tool, working with tons of excel sheets and emails)
- too many tasks are outsourced, although could be done internally (my impression is that many team members just do vendor management)
- an excessive amount of (many times unnecessary) meetings (teams or F2F)
- the company requires a lot from you, meaning 10-12 working hours a day, of course all that without extra compensation
- due to the above con, everyone is extremely busy on calls, meetings and at the daily job, so nobody has time to onboard you
- appearance counts a lot and much more than the actual value
- promoted as an international environment, but in reality, it is just the average Italian work culture
Personally I felt a bit sad that after the enthusiasm I had when joining this company, I had to leave quick, but all in all, I'm happy that
I realized in a few weeks that it was a mistake and left before it impacted my mental health.
