      Good Product, Unmotivated Team

      Pros

      -The product is interesting and helps people discover the family history. -Meeting people they always have a story to tell about their ancestors. -There are a number of smart managers and executives. -The company tries to promote from within. -Interesting new growth areas such as DNA.

      Cons

      -Majority of executives and upper management are located in Provo. -SF salaries are not competitive to the market because HR and upper management use Utah as a gauge of what salaries should be. -Not enough investment in the technology stack and infrastructure. -A larger company that has a number of people that don't contribute anything meaningful but still remain employed and unmotivated.

      good friendly people, work life balance

      no visible career path. you career path only depends on your immediate boss. transparency is lacking especially above senior managers. every director has a different vision of the company and so they create confusion for the employees. needs a better higher management.

      Would never work there again. The only good thing was working remotely.

      Cons

      Company has unethical billing practices that anger many customers. If you enjoy talking to angry people on the phone this is the job for you. Ancestry doesn't care about their customers or their employees, especially at entry level positions. I also got 1 raise in 3 years which is crap no matter how you look at it.
