Pros

Great pay and benefits Some really genuine and caring people Strong brand pride / strong culture Some good leaders

Cons

Severe lack of process and effective prioritization - everything is always an all hands on deck approach to getting things done, with some areas being completely unfunded and under-resourced Real lack of diversity - it may appear that Andersen is diverse on the outside, but scratch under the surface and it’s merely a guise. They only seem to be focused on upping the numbers of people of color, and when diverse people get hired there seems little focus on actually changing the culture to accept people of diverse backgrounds. Probably due to them being very early in their diversity journey. Diversity is far more than just skin color. Andersen is very much a Midwest / Minnesotan culture and I feel that it will probably take years to make any real change. Leadership training / HR processes sadly lacking - this leads to ineffective managers will little knowledge or experience of how to manage people effectively and get the best out of them

Avoid Shared Services

Pros

Benefits are very good for the market.

Cons

In my 20+ year career, I have not worked for such a large company that is stuck in 1985 from a technology and leadership perspective. In the past year, more than 6 people have left the Shared Services organization. All have worked there for less than a year. Most have cited dated technology and poor leadership/toxic work environment for leaving. Shared Services is a revolving door and has difficulty recruiting internally and externally. If you want to use dated and irrelevant systems, Andersen is the place for you. There are multiple ERPs which do not "talk" to each other, thus making basic tasks incredibly difficult. Ironically, a key "pillar" of the company's value is "innovation", however the technology used by the company is not relevant. Not one company locally uses the financial systems Andersen does. Leadership completely lacks vision to get with the times because so many have worked there for so long. Nepotism at the company is unreal and stifles growth and innovation. Many family and friends work there which is NOT a good thing. I was warned by multiple to be careful what you say because you may be commenting on things worked on by someone's, wife, brother, sister, cousin, husband, niece, nephew, etc. How does that help a company? How can you move the company forward by not offending a friend or family? Finally, when leaders say, "Don't be offended, but...." and then go on to say something offensive, you should no longer be a leader. This is a company that is slowly burning to the ground. Leadership lacks the vision and determination to take this company into the 21st century. A house cleaning is needed to make the place less toxic.

Pros

Looking back, pay is fair but you’re capped due to these new pay models they set up. This is not a Business Development organization, this is about what you can take away from the market share. Relationships mean nothing to this organization and now I see why.

Cons

Let’s just say they have no idea how to properly pay their employees, hence why they’re changing the compensation, often. The leadership has old school mentality, and when you think teammates???, that really doesn’t exist. You do you and you have to play nice with the other. If you don’t, you have no way of succeeding due to the fraternal mentality that’s developed with new and older employees, it is very territorial. They keep changing models and saying they’re improving, but in reality they change because nothing works for them, or organizational systems are being created by inexperienced staff (CRM??, it doesn’t exist)
