Pros

Pay ok for retail. Being able to work independently, with no one looking over your shoulder. Would have enjoyed position more if able to just do what I was hired for!

Cons

Company starts you out with many hours, to give a good impression, then drastically cuts them just before the holiday season (?) because they are way over budget. This after being told you need to be available to work many hours for the upcoming holiday season. Expected to be on-call, late scheduling or changing schedule at the last minute. No work/life balance, even for a part-time job. Company will use you, then toss you aside at the drop of a hat! Training non-existent, learned most on my own. Communication overload, text blasts, daily updates, phone calls. Spent more time checking this than actually getting work done on the floor. Company more interested in filling out daily surveys on time, than just letting employees get the job done. Shouldn't having product set for customers out take priority? Handheld device, not working or needs to be reset almost daily. Help desk, not able to help? Too many steps to return product. Out of touch DM, doesn't understand daily activities in store. Having 12 hrs/wk to do 20 hrs of tasks doesn't make for a positive work enviroment.

Pros

You get to work somewhat independently. You get to work with music and movies. You are usually out by 2pm.

Cons

Poor communication from upper management. Complete stubborness and lack of flexibility when it comes to payroll hours. Poor project planning. Zero communication from upper management in regards to feedback, coaching, and development. The only time District Managers will contact you is if they are covering their backside. Awful benefits (full timers don't qualify for a legitimate benefit package until a year of employment). Hours cut aburptly without notice (but projects and workload remaining the same or even increasing).
