Pros

Great mission, excellent coworkers, fairly good benefits

Cons

When I worked there, micromanaging was at an all-time high. There seemed to be no trust in your work.

Great coworkers, selfish leadership

Pros

Your coworkers genuinely care about the work they're doing and each other. Everyone cares about the outdoors and you get free nights at mountain huts.

Cons

Leadership makes selfish, poor decisions. For example, they complied with Trump's executive orders in advance, going against their stated values of equity and inclusion. They fired multiple employees of 25+ years in an unprofessional manner. For the size and budget of the organization, the CEO makes a huge salary. She talks constantly about her values but won't stand up for them when the time comes. This is a good place for seasonal or temporary employment, NOT to build a career.
