Relaxed team environment with job security

Pros

Flexible work schedule, telecommuting opportunities, fun and relaxed team environment with easy access to development, QA, design. Good bonuses/raises in recognition of hard work. Casual dress code, in house cafeteria. Great people to work with. Surprise vacation days periodically (birthday holiday, extended holidays). Good job security as company continues to grow.

Cons

Benefits are lacking especially the 401(k) matching program. Communication is sometimes lacking. Changes on the team level are often just announced instead of getting team member input. Those involved are just expected to change roles/teams for "the well-being" of the company which can lead to feelings of just being a number/being easily replaced.

Worked in many departments

Pros

The general employees are awesome. The checks don't bounce. There is always something to do. The people you work with within and outside the company are great. You are always learning something. There are worse places to work. Benefits are ok. Most supervisors are great people to work for. Overall, you could do a lot worse.

Cons

Gonna be honest... Pay is very low as compared to the industry. I negotiated my starting pay years ago, but was amazed at how little some people started at. Most moves from department to department are lateral. Even if you are told you will get a pay increase they will find a way to take it away in the end. I.E. a pay increase after an initial period in the new department, then at your yearly review you get nothing because you already had an increase this year. Departments pass work on to other departments as much as possible. Communication is not great, but not as bad as it was a few years ago. General work horse departments are understaffed, but the CEO hires another of his buddies from his last company as another new VP every few months. Then they all sit in the super happy office in Atlanta and commute to Chicago and stay in 5 star hotels, tell the whole company how much money we're making then hose the general staff out of raises. Most of us are wondering if the Atlanta office is working for the same company as were, judging from the Atlanta reviews on here, they are not, or they are putting something amazing in the water down there. You may notice an influx of positive reviews here lately...that's because management informed the whole company about this site and how they want the ratings to go up. Most of us are reading these and laughing.

Pros

Ability to work independently. Has provided an opportunity for me to do what I am passionate about.

Cons

Low pay. Manager are self-absorbed and not very respectful of anyone below them. Opportunity for advancement is talked about often. But that's it. Just talked about.
