Pros

Promotion is extremely easy - only rely on relationships.

Cons

Title does not match with skillset and experience, especially on senior and sup senior level. Most of the senior, esp. sup seniors has serious work ethic and attitude issues. They have no idea what integrity and respects are. Workpapers were in bad quality, and they do not understand what they are trying to accomplish, more correctly, they do not bother to understand what they are doing. They do things just for doing. As the HR partner to go after anyone who placed constructive feedbacks. No matter how they perform, people with a good relationship with the HR partner or senior managers will guarantee there will be unrealistic positive feedback. If you want to be a real evaluator purely base on performance, you would be in deep trouble. And there is no respect to the doers. It is a talker dominated environment. Scheduling was a disaster. The firm only care about the giant SEC client. All other smaller clients has no resources being allocated. Too many alcoholic in the office. They go wild after a few drinks, and the partner encourage people to go crazy, even affecting normal operations. The office is not a place to work.

Pros

Armanino offers a decent work/life balance. PTO balance is high and the firm promotes going on vacation and is willing to work scheduling around future vacation plans. Coworkers are a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Armanino’s salaries are not in line with industry average. Annual wage amounts were released, resulting in much dissatisfaction for employees. The general consensus is that current employees feel over worked and under paid. Moral is at an all time low. Audit seniors are making less than those of equivalent experience in prior years and have, arguably worked more hours. Compensation structure is not in-line with “company values”. Partners are preaching a “growth-mindset” in which seniors are supposed to nurture new staff and help them grow with the firm. However, the bonuses are awarded for those that issue financial statements within 30 days. In many cases, it is a frantic rush to get your job out (especially as a senior) as you have to juggle the staff, the manager, and the client. In sum, it is much easier to slack on teaching staff and do all of the work yourself thus conflicting with a “growth-mindset”. If salaries were higher and there was less of a focus on bonuses, Audit Seniors would have more time to focus on “growing” staff.

Pros

Most employees in other departments - tax, audit - appear to be very happy and are unified. The company lets people work at home

Cons

Management in our department rarely talk to employees - if you're not a manager, you're invisible. Some of the people that have been with the company for a number of years don't mingle with those of us who are relatively new. The work assignments are unbalanced. Some people are crazy busy and others have little to do. Compensation and annual increases are not great. The company is growing so fast that things are falling in cracks. Work areas are over crowded. When I'm on the phone with a client, they can hear someone from across the room. The company is trying to appeal to the millennials so hard that they're disregarding everyone else.
