Pros

Work schedule from 9-5pm for office positions with no weekends. Registration is paid for as well as some in house training but is minimal.

Cons

Extremely expensive medical benefits. Office technology is outdated; over 7 years old. Locations of service centers in low to not maintained at all multi-tenant commercial buildings run by slum lords. I had pest activity in my office (go figure and this is a pest control company?). Charge-backs assessed against cancelled accounts for any/all sales positions. Accounts/leads subject to the whims of service center managers. Deficient in workplace harmony and cooperation from the Office Manager who sits on her over-sized rear end and refuses to help when call volume is high and other office staff is struggling to answer phones while Service center manager comes running out of his office screaming to the Service Center manager who refuses to do any field work when needed but expects employees to "cross-train" so they can help in areas not included in their job description. Double standards and office politics abound. Too many personality conflicts. No forewarning of changes so there is tiime to adjust. Expectations too high and/or not clear. Unprofessional work environment.

Pros

You get some money for showing up during training. A company car with more strings attached than a 17th century puppet. Co-workers are genuinely cool for the most part. You can move up if you make the right friends.

Cons

You have to wait 30 days for your first paycheck and when you quit, you get your final pay and that's it ( I lost 3 weeks of pay). The pay is miserably low, the health insurance is absurdly high and they work you to death. They tell you "Sales makes their own leads." You do dozens and dozens of WDO inspections for free and nobody ever buys. This is the only company that celebrates how much "Free" work they make their employees do. They make their employees read the "mission and vision" every Friday morning like a cult and if you don't, you will be disciplined. Don't stop at the grocery store on your way home in the company car because they'll discipline you for that too. You have to pay $130.00 per month to use the company car for commuting, $7.00 per pay for uniforms, and they force you to pay for a cancer plan at $28 per month that you never even sign up for. Management plays favorites and everybody else gets dumped on. All positions are straight commission or hourly below the poverty line. They monitor all of your communication and time spent with co-workers on and off the clock and they question you about it the next morning or on Monday. They have almost created a God out of their CEO and you may never criticize or disagree with anything she says or does. You will pay with your job. Co-workers are encouraged and rewarded for snitching on each other for stupid stuff like taking the company vehicle to the store, going to a doctor's appointment or looking for another job.

Arrow Exterminators Response
9y
First, thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts and sentiments. We are sincerely apologetic to have missed the mark for you. As with any of our current or former employees, we invite you to engage in a continued conversation by emailing us at arrowcares@arrowexterminators.com. We take pride in leading the market in both competitive pay and benefits offerings. While many companies average 11-20% increases in benefits cost each year, Arrow has minimized its increases to around 3% for our Core Plan and 0% increases for our Core Family Plan and HDHP plans. Almost 70% of our premiums are paid by our owners. We also offer a variety of terrific voluntary products including disability products and cancer policies that are never required. One product that we are pleased to offer free of cost is a $30k life insurance policy to all full-time Arrow Team Members. We also offer technicians the option to take their company vehicles to and from work for a small fee to cover additional insurance premiums and maintenance. This is a popular benefit as it saves Team Members costs in fuel and vehicle wear and tear. Because of insurance liabilities, there are some restrictions on the personal use of company vehicles. Not only do we offer competitive compensation and stellar benefits, we also take enormous pride in our culture and values. There is no one that emulates these principles more than our own President and CEO. Our mission and vision statements are at the core of how we do business. Therefore, we are admittedly a little fanatical about reminding our Team Members and ourselves all about them. Finally, there is nothing more humbling than the realization that our Team Members are at the root of our success. We understand that each of our Team Members work dutifully to bring our service commitments and values to the doorsteps of our customers. We have a long history of rewarding and recognizing those that have demonstrated excellence. We regret if you did not experience this during your tenure here. It sounds like we did not meet your expectations. We want to thank you for your comments and for making Arrow a part of your journey. We wish you continued success. -Respectfully, Arrow Exterminators Human Resources

Pros

Get to take home work truck.

Cons

Have to come in early to setup truck for day, but don't get paid for it. Get paid wage+commission, so no overtime. Don't even think about it if you're in the national guard or reserves. They wouldn't get anyone to cover my route for me while I was gone and I would work 80-90 hours a week for 2 months trying to catch up. Will overburden you with work, adding more and more to your workload. Do not care about workers safety.
