Pros

Article is constantly developing new processes and ways of doing things different this this provides excellent learning opportunities for employees. You can get involved and stuck in to new projects and have a voice at the table. The employees are smart, highly engaged hardworking people and make Article what is is today. Excellent place to meet people, cultivate relationships and create friendships.

Cons

Article experienced extreme hyper growth during Covid-19, as they scaled operations in response to increased revenue that showcased cracks across the organization. The operating foundations were not set up to withstand the growth and now senior leadership are retrospectively trying to implement new operational frameworks to allow for scale and profitability. Senior leadership have cultivated a culture of lack of trust by incorrect accountability and authority amongst Directors and Senior Managers. These senior stakeholders do not communicate with one effectively and tend to be more involved in day to day activities rather than directing or managing their Functions. Additionally data at Article is inconsistent and hard to trust making it difficult to get the truth on how Functions are performing and what the cost of services are.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We take pride in the work ethic, ability and camaraderie of our Particles. It’s great to hear you feel that, as well as the opportunities we have when doing things differently. Hypergrowth did shed light on opportunities for what we can do better — as is the case for the few companies lucky enough to experience that growth. Like you mentioned, we’re learning from it and developing better frameworks and structures to support our next phase of growth. We’re always listening to our Particles and learning how we can improve in every facet of the business. There are always opportunities to be remarkably better, and we’ll continue to pursue those with the help of Particles like you who share honest feedback. -Sean

Pros

There are no pros in my opinion.

Cons

If I could give this company a 0 star review I would I don’t usually write bad reviews but below is my personal experience to say that I ignored reviews is poor judgement . After training which was reading from slides for two weeks with little to no hands on experience and members of management and training professional making you feel as if ur stupid then when u determine honest communication i.e. U learn from hands on demonstration and ur told that this would be facilitated and isn't then ur subjected to oh ur not good enough cause u fail to process a request within ten seconds after two weeks of reading from slides a pure and utter disgrace of a company in all areas treatment company culture management You will be subjected to your performance shared on slack and if they plan to let you go this will be removed and manipulated to cover upper management along with false promises to help you improve and not facilitated. If your looking for a job to use you to process a back log while they recruit new hires and do the same to them then this is the place for u if ur looking for people to totally make u feel stupid and slow after one to two examples of processes then apply for anyone looking to begin a career with a company that u think will treat u right then this is not the place for you. Avoid them like the plague!!!! Only work here if you have to.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Our goal is that every aspect of the team experience, including onboarding and training, is remarkable and we’re sorry to hear that you didn’t have a positive experience during your time with us. Customer care is an important part of our customer experience. COVID-19 has challenged us as an organization to adapt to the new reality while maintaining our commitment to our customers. In an effort to keep employees healthy and safe, most of our team at HQ have moved to remote work. At the beginning of our switch to remote work, our team had to create new training procedures to ensure Customer Care team members would still receive a high-quality training curriculum, facilitated by our Customer Care Team Trainer via video conference. By doing that, it unfortunately meant that we were no longer able to offer in-person training sessions and had to move to fully remote sessions and frequent one on one video discussions with team members to compensate. Our team prides itself on being open with each other and providing honest, direct feedback. During the training period, feedback about performance is always given one on one to ensure there can be a two-way dialogue. Team-wide Slack channels are used to communicate break times, and Q&A regarding procedures, product information, etc. We take feedback seriously and encourage you to email us at hr@article.com with any further thoughts — feedback from employees is necessary and encouraged in order to improve future training curriculums. Regards, Sonia HR Manager

Pros

- stocked kitchen - open-space concept office, roomy and pretty - friendly coworkers (not management) - let me keep the computer when they laid me off

Cons

- took away free lunches on holidays because the office teams didn't like that the warehouse + customer service teams were getting them and they couldn't also have it - very very little opportunity for growth, saw only 2/100 people in my department who "moved up" - after 4 years of employment, received a total of a $1.50 raise. nobody received raises 2 years in a row - forced everyone to go back into the office, despite multiple complaints. multiple people resigned as a result and were never replaced - keeps warehouse team and customer service team on skeleton crews. - once got in trouble because "i didn't use enough emojis" to convey my emotions. there were no emotions to be given in my conversation about my performance review - was almost written up because i logged in 3 minutes late - fake, hyperpositive environment that tries to make you feel like you can be honest, but it's never actually taken well - laid off over 100 employees in the last year but nobody in upper management has been affected whatsoever. management team openly refused to take pay cuts - upper management has poor communication skills, and during all hands meetings will refuse to answer questions despite it being an "open room" for questions

Article went through unprecedented growth during the pandemic, followed by a market correction and slowdown. This led to some hard but necessary decisions that were needed to ensure Article could be an enduring profitable organization. While, we’re thankful you took the time to share your thoughts, it’s important we address some of the inaccurate statements. Since 2021, we have had 40 promotions within the Customer Care team. This does not include the Particles (people of Article), who started as Customer Care agents and have moved into other departments to grow their careers. Regarding raises, employees who received “not meeting expectations” in their performance reviews were not eligible for wage increases - very few got this rating in Customer Care, and the rest received raises. Article has a compensation philosophy to pay for performance, not for tenure. While, your employee experience is not what we strive for in Customer Care at Article, we want to wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours and hopefully, you’ll find a better employment match.
