Really fun and talented group of people. Management is focused and transparent, creating a culture that focuses on results and rewards excellence. Ascend does a great job promoting from within, creating lots of opportunities to grow. Everyone works well together creating a supportive environment.
I have worked for and with a lot of tech companies and can say the CEO at Ascend is one of the best I have ever worked with. Smart, high EQ, direct and always respectful. Ascend really lives by its stated values.
Our product has been re-written as a modern cloud-native application, dramatically improving performance and quality. Developers are able to work with great tools, languages, frameworks and infrastructure. Ascend already had a great product that saves companies money, our rewrite has dramatically increased our ability to build useful features and innovate.
I love that Ascend is fully remote (but we have a lot of fun when we all get together) and very committed to diversity.
Cons
Not all of our customers have been migrated off our legacy system yet but we are working on it. Until the migrations are complete we are managing two codebases which creates challenges.
We are growing fast and working hard on scaling up processes and procedures, but so far the growing pains have been minor.
