Pros

Started out really good. cared about employees and paid well. I worked at Ashley furniture for over 10 years. I was in sales, always in the top 3 and 4 years in a row I was number 1. My relationship with my coworkers was good. People at work became like family. You will always miss the people you worked with.

Cons

Ashley furniture breaks down in to 3 parts Rockladge, stoneladge and I forgot the 3rd ladge. Basically, chicago, California and Florida markets. Chicago market was never on its own. They followed either the California market or the Florida Market. Every few years there were new rules to follow. As the years went by, the commission structure changed. In mid 2016, the structure changed in a way that it was obvious that the company did not care about having good sales people on the floor and just wanted bodies in their show room. The pay structure was done in a way that sales people would get paid $10 an hour if they ship under $10,000 a week and to make sure of that, they flood the floor. They stopped caring about their employees making money and cared about their own pockets. one question: If a certain salesperson is shipping $2000 that week and on Friday he gets a customer that wants to spend $7,000 but must be delivered on Saturday (the next day). Why would the salesperson care to try their best to close it? My salary went down from ~$75,000 to ~$45,000. I have to thank you for that because it led me to my current job.

Pros

The place has air conditioning.

Cons

In order to make a decent salary you have to work long hours like 55-60 hours a week and stalk customer via the phone. I lost orders because the furniture didn't get made in the time period that the POS quoted which made me look like a liar to the angry customer that decided to cancel the order. Also, the so call fabric called Durablend is like the Frankenstein Monster it's made of 17 percent of scraps of leather, some cotton and polyurethane (plastic). Doesn't that sound wonderful. And the regular "cloth" fabric they use is polyester. They also try to sell you this furniture protection using fear tactics that is rubbish, because when something does happen to your furniture, they don't honor it. The also have the LIST price and the SALE price on tags which is just rubbish as well. I could have done well if I was willing to give up my life for this place and give up my morals. There is a reason why they have high turn over, the floor is flooded with desperate sales people. Lastly the training is horrible and too complicated. And when you try to get a short to the point lecture, you get nothing but a lot of words that don't answer your simple question.

Pros

Decent pay when you actually got paid

Cons

Complete lack of respect for employees. Minimum sales requirements make it so that on slow months they don't have to pay you. 80%+ turnover rate. If you are thinking about applying here, don't.
