Pros

Current Instructional Leadership Director and managers in Bronx, NY, New York State The benefits package is amazing! It includes 401k matching up to 8% which includes a 3% tuition reimbursement match. I love that teachers are entitled to self care flex days, which makes attending to family and personal things seamless. The bonuses are also a plus; being eligible to receive up to 16% for your hard work and dedication. And the option to have free healthcare is awesome!

Cons

Leaderships need more outside professional development days.

Pros

Amazing opportunities for trips, great benefits, consistent coaches & PTO benefits. Students are taken all around the world. Money is above the DOE pay scale. Bonus at the end of the year.

Cons

Days are longer than DOE so do your research before signing on. Longer days, but bigger rewards financially and for career growth. If you are looking to launch your career this is a great place for opportunities.

Pros

Many students and staff continue to give their best in spite of an extremely toxic environment

Cons

Students are yelled at on a daily basis and called "future dropouts" by the officers of the school. Work-life balance is non-existent, very little prep time remains during the school day between random assignments and endless meetings, and managers expect immediate confirmation of endless text messages sent after 9 p.m. and on weekends. School officers intentionally create an ambiance of fear and intimidation where no one, including leadership, speaks up for fear or retaliation. Those running academics and culture are absentee, unqualified, and run on ego and denial of the state of shambles around them. The students act out because they hate being there, and parents are blatantly disrespected when they advocate for them. Many ought to be someplace better designed to meet their needs, but the school keeps them for years to get their funding $s then puts them out before they can blemish their scores. And scores are EVERYTHING here - they lie and tell the kids they need state exam scores to get scholarships because all they care about is getting reupped and keeping their bloated salaries. Both teachers and students are expected to walk back and forth between multiple campuses for back-to-back classes, and supplies are often non-existent. Lastly, beware the so-called bonus they will dangle over you - once over 90% of my students had passed the exam for my subject area, they let me go with no notice a week before that hefty sum was set to kick in. The entire place is unprofessional and rotten to the core and I feel for every student and decent co-worker who is stuck there, and I know many of them are currently looking to transfer (both kids and adults).
