Enlightening but Stressful!

Pros

I worked at this facility several years ago and it was like a hidden jewel in this area of NC! As a Magnet hospital, nurses were really empowered to provide excellent patient care and were provided top notch equipment to do so. The staff on the floor I worked on was very friendly and helpful in my orientation.

Cons

Time management was a big issue for me because I worked nights and had to get accustomed to admitting new patients at 5 a.m. with a nurse-patient ratio of 1:5/6. It was very stressful coming from a step-down unit with 4 patients and few admits after midnight. Management also frowned on nurses staying over to complete duties after the shift had changed. It was a very stressful situation at times.

The insurance plan for 2016 will be a high deductible plan.
