Pros

Teamwork on my unit is nice. Staff does actually care about patient care. This is. Trauma level one, so you work with amazing people and learn a lot!

Cons

Pay is bad, staffing is not great, the guys up top make a lot and don’t seem to care about any of the staff. Holiday requirements are more than other hospitals I’ve worked for as well. Holiday pay and OT pay isn’t great. Holiday pay is just an extra $10/hr. For a trauma level 1 hospital that has its own college of nursing you’d think they’d want to pay competitively to keep and recruit the best. But they don’t.

Pros

Teamwork, great patient care, opportunity for advancement

Cons

Too much “red tape” changes can take over a year to implement
