Pros

Market competitive salary and retirement package.

Cons

physicians are treated extremely poorly. Physician leadership are figure heads that are unable to contribute to decision-making which is entirely administrative. There is significant favoritism demonstrated with only a select few physicians having any voice at all. Volume and time demands are unreasonable creating physician dissatisfaction which is demonstrated on their annual survey but you'll never know that because they hide the results. Who wants to see a physician who hates his/her job and the company they work for? Not me.

Pros

Team of nurses work great together. Supplies for patients readily available. Nursing supervisors readily available for emergencies. Calling a Rapid Response team was not discouraged. Nursing team tried hard not to assign more than 6 patients per nurse in medsurg.

Cons

Missing breaks and/or lunch was commonplace. Lowest paying system in the area. Pay raises were very small. Vacation time is hard to get on weekends. Constantly being asked to work overtime. Nurses required to float to other medsurg units on a rotating basis, as needed. Shift differential is not high enough for nurses to want to remain on nights. There is a long waiting list for days.

Pros

The organization truly demonstrated patient first through quality care and investing into their leaders. Employees are appreciated by the organization recognizing employee's via publicly in monthly publications, picnics, and many other avenue if recognition. The organization is truly on the cutting edge of technology and CHS is always wanting to go above and beyond.

Cons

CHS could review their leadership ratio for minority above the AVP level to see if diversity is truly equal as well as in the compensation for the AVP and above.
