We appreciate your recognition of AutoNation’s commitment to honesty. Part of what contributes to our stability is our commitment to doing the right thing for our customers AND Associates. Our Pay Plan Plus, which includes a base salary component, may not be ideal for everyone, but it does provide more stability for the increasing number of individuals who would rather work on an hourly or base pay plan with bonus potential as compared to a 100% commission pay plan.

Pros

Good at honoring Your PTO.

Cons

Pay is miserable. I've been with the company at several departments for over 3 years now. They always find a way to pay you less than you bargained for. I've been promised a raise for over 6 months now and it's always just around the corner. I was directly told it would be on my last paycheck but SURPRISE it wasn't. I'm told I'm doing a good job but still no raise. I think corporate trains the managers to push you as hard as possible with as little pay as they can. There is also rampant understaffing. If you get a lunch break you are one of the lucky ones.

We are disheartened to hear this miscommunication surrounding your salary increase. Your feedback on the payment structure and corporate training is appreciated, and will be taken into account as we improve the structure of the company. Our employees are the backbone of AutoNation, and we pride ourselves on selecting individuals that provide positive and strong leadership. When it comes to training our managers, we provide them with the proper tools and communication to have teams succeed.

Pros

AutoNation is a great company as a whole, trying to change the stigma of the auto sales industry. Company actually sticks to policies and ethical expectations. New pay plan benefits younger, less motivated individuals, I guess. Being the largest auto retailer plenty of resources available. Lunch provided on Saturdays.

Cons

Although good company; very poor management with zero leadership skills. Seems wrong people move up; moral+ethic+judgement do not seem to align with AutoNation and it's values. Pay is mediocre for talented individuals. Flat rate CAN be enough, but takes more deals to make less now. Schedules are silly. Lunch provided on Saturdays; 12 hour work day and no reason to leave.

Our Sales Associates are the backbone of this company. We appreciate the time and work that you put in here at AutoNation. We are constantly looking to our employees to help us create a better employee experience and truly appreciate your feedback. We apologize that you are not aligned with the pay plan that we offer, and appreciate your feedback. It is disappointing to hear that you are unhappy with the management at your store and that you feel you are not being awarded opportunities of advancement. We will use your comments to help ensure the company moves forward in the right direction. Thank you again.
