Pros

The company claims their people are # 1 in the Fundamental Five.

Cons

The Region Presidents are micro-managers that are so far removed from the day to day operations of a dealership they fail to understand what the associates face on a daily basis.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback on our management style and structure. We’re disappointed to know we haven’t completely satisfied your workplace expectations here at AutoNation. We want our Associates to enjoy where they work, and have heeded your concerns and communicated them within our organization.

Pros

Coworkers are mostly pretty great.

Cons

You're gonna be the last concern they have. You're not getting enough hours, oh well!?! You haven't seen a car in here for hours, that's fine!!! The shop rate is $150+ but you get $20-25/hr, that math is ok with them! You wanna watch what it's like to see a mechanic starve while another gets the best jobs possible? This is the place for you! Trust me, even if you're desperate, stay away and go be a plumber or an electrician or sweep up parking lots. Literally anything is better than watching the slow death that is the dealerships of autonation.

Pros

Decent sales opportunities and decent hours for a sales job. *that changed after this post, added hours.

Cons

Hard to get promoted; if you are older, they make it harder on you; they do not look at the years of experience that you have. Very focused on many stats, If you are not in that range, you will be passed up for a promotion, If there is someone who has been in the business for 6 months, they will get promoted.
