Pros

I have been with AutoNation for more than 10 years and have been given the opportunity and support to grow within the Company. With as many locations as we have, not just in each Market but Nationwide, we have the ability to grow and promote from within. AutoNation has created good processes and hired trainers to teach those processes in each Market. AutoNation offers many benefits to their associates, among them are health insurance, 401k plus match, vehicle purchase program and family/friends referral programs.

Cons

The managers need to be consistent with what's being trained in the training classes. Employee recognition has decreased over the years. Lack of increases and pay plan changes have caused low employee morale

Pros

Stability of working for a large corp. The honesty and fairness. Also, the opportunities for advancement and promotability. Other thing would be the transparency of every deal, everything has a process. There is a chain of command, and open door policy. You never feel that you dont have someone to go to.

Cons

The only con I really have is the waiting period for benefits is kind of tough. The only other concern for new hires is the time it takes to develop your skills and the amount of effort needed to be successful in this industry. This isnt a problem for me, but I do see it occassionally with new hires.

Training - I was fortunate enough to have Rick Wiggins as my trainer Training Materials - they were excellent Processes - I really like what AutoNation teaches in terma of processes (meet & greet, needs analysis, etc)

Cons

6 months till you qualify for benefits No succession planning Sink or swim mentality towarsd new employees Internet leads are not passed on to new employees No training by car dealership management Management vs Employees mentality
