While it is tough to respond to the vague description of our system architecture without more detail, we hear you. With over twenty years of development, acquisitions, and continued innovation, the technologies supporting our nation’s healthcare system are incredibly complex. Many of the best practices we adhered to five years ago are no longer relevant, which is why we continuously work to improve our systems and services—sometimes unwinding system complexities that are no longer required. This challenge is not exclusive to Availity by any stretch and is sometimes why our customers engage us. We are fortunate to have some of the best development and engineering talent tackling these complexities and streamlining our technologies daily. And we are growing rapidly, so Availity is an exciting place to be from an engineering standpoint. Please reach out to your manager to discuss your ideas on improving the system architecture, we welcome feedback from our associates. Unlike many technology companies, Availity routinely ranks high for providing quality customer service. Our client services associates are skilled at making the customer feel important by working with them to help resolve the issue regardless of how long it takes. Technology challenges are never fun—we’ve all been there—so some callers may be frustrated initially, but most are grateful for your support. Sometimes, all they want is for someone to listen. We are sad to hear that you felt the culture was toxic and that favoritism was taking place. We pride ourselves on having an open and inclusive work environment where we value our associates’ contributions and voices. While we have many long-term associates with deep connections, playing favorites is not in our DNA. We regularly recognize outstanding achievements, but everyone at Availity is to be held to the same high standards regardless of who they are. It’s that consistency that strengthens our culture.
