Pros

Good coffee, onsite convenience store, food trucks, pinball machines, ping pong. These things are provided mainly because you'll be working all the time.

Cons

No work-life balance: I came in at 7AM each morning and worked 10 hours minimum each day. Got yelled at for not putting down a whole day's worth of PTO when I worked 4 hours that morning and had to take off that afternoon to to the doctor. That week I put in over 50 hours without those 4 hours I took off; so I made up for it, but not good enough. At the same time I was asked why I wasn't logging in at night and on the weekends; that other members of the team do. I have a family and they come before work. Benefits: Some of the worst medical benefits I've ever had. Had to spend like $4500 on the deductible before anything was covered for me and my family. Management: I felt as if I was being micromanaged the whole time. From what I saw it looked like everyone was micromanaged on my team. Process: Development was agile, but the product had lots of bugs. Instead of fixing issues with the software they kept moving forward introducing even more issues. And forget improving your software. I asked why we were using an out of date 2 factor authentication method as an "enhancement" and was told that not in these exact words, but close to it "Our customers aren't software savvy enough for newer technology". I feel sorry for customers who pay for this software.

Availity Response

Thank you for taking the time to draft a review. We know and appreciate that our associates work hard, which is why we strongly encourage them to maintain a healthy work/life balance. Managers are also encouraged to exercise flexibility with their teams whenever possible. The business is doing well, and there is plenty of work to do. Honestly, we wouldn’t want it any other way. We wish we could have had the chance to address some of your issues while you were still here. At Availity, we encourage open and inclusive dialogue, which means addressing issues when they arise because we all take part in building our culture. Availity offers a robust benefits package, including employer contributions to the Health Savings account, the medical premium discount program (where you can earn additional money on your paycheck), and wellness reimbursement program. Preventative services are always 100% covered, resulting in no cost to the employee or their family members for these services. Selecting the right plan isn’t always easy, which is why we provide the tools to help you make informed decisions that meet your healthcare needs while minimizing your costs. Lastly, we have invested heavily in our technologies over the years. Every day, we leverage many state-of-the-art tools to fuel our solutions and systems. And our UX team works to deliver an accessible, intuitive, and friendly user experience. We know our customers are tech-savvy—we meet with them all the time and use their feedback to improve our products.

Headed for a Meltdown

Pros

The non managerial staff at this company is highly competent and friendly. That's where the good news ends. If you must get something on your resume/you need a paycheck soon, this place will work in the interim.

Cons

Management will continue to pretend like problem's don't exist. Being transparent and pretending that there are no problems are quite different ideologies. Top Management continues to portray a picture that everything is doing fine because we are profitable. Yet we continue to have large Reorganizations, which is a nice way to say lay-offs. Then they have the gall to wonder why people are confused as to what's happening?

Pros

-Above market compensation... -Great work ethic/ high standards aka. you’ll learn a lot.... -Smart & talented senior leadership team.... - Great products customers love... - LOTS of POTENTIAL to be something greater with traction... -Google-like facilities and amenities... - Modern technology stack.... - Nice dev perks... - Nice laptops to work on... - Great community among worker bees...

Cons

-No Training for Middle/Lower Management: You’ll love your peers, but dread the lack of emotional, organizational, clear/repetitive communication skills of your managers..... - Lack of Transparency: You’ll be let go one day and shocked to the core. Then, you”ll find out they had been planning it half a year in advance and couldn’t figure out how to tell you or the company how to avoid/minimize impact to it by linking strategic priorities to the day to day..... -People Apathy: you’ll see the talent and heroics of the workforce and wonder how turnover is apart of the status quo in the minds of the smart & talented senior leadership team
