Pros

Fully remote and you have to work with some of the smartest people you will ever meet.

Cons

Out of touch upper management, will cave the second a customer complains even if it's a self inflicted wound on the customer's side. Still trying to figure out how they keep making the Best Places to work list. The culture has changed significantly and not for the better. Processes are not appropriately documented and there is no standard process. They keep saying they are pushing for standards but if the payer who uses technology from 1990 can't update something because it will impact their legacy systems, it becomes our problem.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. To your point, our people shape our culture and make Availity a Great Place to Work™-certified company. We agree our associates are some of the smartest, most innovative people. They are also driven to solve some of healthcare's biggest challenges for our clients. Availity's mission to provide a delightful healthcare experience for everyone offers our associates a career with purpose—and they can see the positive impact of their work every day. In the past few years, Availity has evolved into a rapidly growing company committed to continuous improvement, transformation, and improving healthcare. While some changes have been more challenging for associates than others, we have always made sure to keep our finger on the pulse of our culture. Our culture helps us win new business, attract top talent, and remain competitive in our industry. Availity has always excelled at customer service, and we work closely with our clients to solve problems. Sometimes, that means meeting clients where they are in their technology journey. However, as a multi-payer solution, our leadership team focuses on innovation and solving problems at scale whenever possible. There are many opportunities for process improvement as we continue to transform as a company—please be sure to share your ideas with your manager.

We're sorry to learn that you feel that way and strongly encourage you to share more details with your manager or HR Business Partner. This review is unusual for us, so more information would help address this issue. Our associates are some of the most talented individuals in the business and are the heartbeat of Availity and our culture. While we cannot speak to every experience, Availity strives to provide an environment where associates feel informed, valued, respected, and heard. With an eye toward work-life balance, Availity's remote culture frees associates from the stress of commuting, and our wellness benefits, which start day one, support and encourage the healthy lifestyle associates crave. On top of that, we offer generous PTO, personalized training and skill development, several diversity groups to participate in, access to leadership through our All-Associate Meetings, book clubs, and more. Again, please speak up so we can help. Thank you.

Pros

There are no pros to working at Availity, unless you toe the corporate line at all times.

Cons

Availity Client Services is nothing more than a corporate meatgrinder. The attrition rate for new hires is insane. Even after "revamping" the new hire training, and offering a bonus for referrals, they can just not keep people working in this hell-hole. Supervisors are constantly being "promoted" because the former ones quit, or transfer as soon as possible. New hires are pressured to leave reviews after only a few months, giving Availity their fake "Great Place to work Certified!" rating which they will tout at every opportunity, while digging the mass graves for new hires. Management is laughably detached from reality. Every Friday you get an email from Russ, waxing poetic about the company while casually mentioning how his surf session went that morning, or some other example of distance between a CEO and the actual company worker. You are examined in every aspect of your job, regardless of whether you excel. You are constantly abused by Clients, and by the Company, for EVERYTHING. There is no upside to doing well, unless you are a robot. Changes are implemented on an almost daily, if not weekly, basis with no communication, testing, and/or seemingly any planning, and you are held responsible and expected to just deal with it. Truly a nightmare hellscape of a company. You are not valued. You are replaceable. Big Brother is watching.

Thank you for sharing your experience, even if it wasn't as positive as we'd like. While we are a growing and fast-paced company, we take associate training, advancement, and resource allocation very seriously—and are always looking for ways to improve. Our customers have high expectations for Availity, and we need to be as responsive as possible to issues they may be having. Client support isn't an easy job, but our support specialists are some of the best in the industry. We have always focused on helping associates succeed and have created a culture where we take feedback and criticism seriously. However, it does not sound like the experience you had, and we will commit to identifying areas where we may be falling short. Our annual engagement survey received great feedback from associates who enjoy reading Russ's Friday update emails. The responses include anecdotes such as "I love the Friday updates from Russ, and the organization does a great job of keeping us informed of what's going on in the bigger picture.", "Russ's Friday emails are one of the highlights of my Friday." and "I love reading the Friday emails from Russ. They are so motivating and encouraging, and I look forward to receiving them! #LoveFridayemailsfromRuss #Russisthebombdiggity" Our Great Place to Work™ certification comes from the same survey mentioned above that we conduct each fall. We're very proud of this designation, just as we are proud of the contributions our associates make to our culture of collaboration each day. Thank you again for taking the time to share your review. We wish you much success in your future endeavors.
