Pros

The team culture was nice and the supervisors and SME’s were always helpful and informative. They offer fully remote work which is nice. The pay was decent for the position itself.

Cons

It’s a very highly metric oriented job. The call volumes are high, especially when there are system issues or tool issues, which does happen frequently. Short breaks that are scheduled for you & the break times vary day to day. If you’re comfortable with high call volumes and doing nothing but answering calls all day from typically frustrated clients, then you may be a good fit. People do advance with this company, but you will have to make sure your metrics scores are almost perfect in every area to be considered.

Availity Client Services Associates are well-trained and highly skilled at helping clients and users tackle some challenges they may encounter within our systems. Sometimes, we experience higher-than-average call volumes for various reasons, but we work hard to coordinate as an organization to mitigate this when/where we can. This position can make each customer feel important regardless of the issue. We are a technology company and will encounter challenges along the way. However, how we respond is critical to our success in providing our clients with what they need at that moment. The metrics and service goals we have in place provide us with the data we need to scale and grow the team while delivering a consistent user experience. Thank you for mentioning that several Client Services Associates have been promoted into other business areas at Availity—because so many have throughout the years. For those new to healthcare, Availity Client Services is an excellent way to build a lasting career. We appreciate your feedback and wish you much success in your next chapter.

Pros

Definitely my favorite job I've ever worked. Everyone I have met has been so willing to help and is so kind. The environment is relaxed and the trainers do an excellent job keeping the classes interesting. All resources are provided to you before you are solo.

Cons

As with any customer service job, you will have the occasional rude client. Some of the processes could be simplified, but it is my understanding that they are listening to our concerns and are working to streamline these processes.

While it is tough to respond to the vague description of our system architecture without more detail, we hear you. With over twenty years of development, acquisitions, and continued innovation, the technologies supporting our nation’s healthcare system are incredibly complex. Many of the best practices we adhered to five years ago are no longer relevant, which is why we continuously work to improve our systems and services—sometimes unwinding system complexities that are no longer required. This challenge is not exclusive to Availity by any stretch and is sometimes why our customers engage us. We are fortunate to have some of the best development and engineering talent tackling these complexities and streamlining our technologies daily. And we are growing rapidly, so Availity is an exciting place to be from an engineering standpoint.
